The NZBR welcomes the review of holidays legislation. The current legislation is a source of inconvenience and cost to employers and employees. There have been no fewer than 25 cases concerning the Holidays Act reported in the Employment Reports of New Zealand (where only the most significant cases are reported) since 1991, four of them in the Court of Appeal.
